May 28, 2018
Amreli:
The body of a lion cub and a female leopard were found at two different places in the Tulsishyam range of Gir forests in Amreli district of Gujarat, a forest official said today.
The body of an around 6 to 7 months old lion cub, which most likely was killed in an in-fight of lions was found in the Bhaniya round of the forest under Khamba taluka of the district. The injury marks on the body of the cub indicates that these were received during lions in-fight.
The body of around 10 to 12 year old female leopard was found in the revenue area in Pipalwa. Prima facie it seemed that it had died owing to weakness.
Post-mortem of both the dead beasts would be conducted to ascertain the exact reason of deaths.
