District administrations gear up for Modi’s Garib Kalyan Mela in May
Ahmedabad, 18 March, 2011

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be on statewide ‘Garib Kalyan Mela’ tour again in the month of May this year to distribute government aid to poor beneficiaries of various schemes run by the state.
District collectors have started gearing up to make Garib Kalyan Mela success in their districts. Garib Kalyan Mela will be held at District and Taluka both level.
Newly appointed Gujarat Congress Chief Arjun Modhwadia is continuously attacking Modi led state government’s ‘industrial overdrive’ and ‘extreme capitalist practices’. Mahuva’s farmer march has also damaged Modi’s image of inclusive and balance leader. In such time, Garib Kalyan Mela could shape up pro-poor image of Modi.
Garib Kalyan Melas are important for poor people as they get government’s aid provided in different schemes directly in their hands without red-tap of middle men.
