Reacting to stamp controversy during interaction with media over cabinet decisions, union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today said: Whoever had a role in building and shaping India should receive fitting respect. New series of definitive stamps will be inclusive, giving due recognition to nation builders across ideological divides. We are trying to convert focus in definitive stamps from just one family to an inclusive stream which includes all. Government is trying to broaden number of leaders to be honored by issuing new stamps. Why Congress never brought definitive stamps on Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Swami Vivekananda? Indira Gandhi commemorative stamps came four times, Rajiv Gandhi twice, Jawaharlal Nehru for eight times. We hold view that nation should commemorate all leaders. Does Congress not deem Rajendra Prasad or Subhash Chandra Bose worthy of commemoration?Have we removed Jawaharlal Nehru ji’s stamp? No. Was Maulana Azad not from Congress? Or Ambedkar?
