Gandhinagar: A person recruited as petrol pump assistant for a petrol pump run by Gujarat govt arm Gujarat State Food and Civil Supply Corporation was actually compelled to work as servant at Corporation’s Managing Director(MD) CV Som. This matter came to light when recruited person was injured while shifting double-bed of MD CV Som who is Indian Administrative Service(IAS) officer.
Victim Rohit Thakor alleged that he was being treated as ‘Gulam’ by IAS officer and was given mental stress.
He said he was recruited by a man power supplier company as sector 21 petrol pump assistance but for last three months he was asked to work at Som’s house. Yesterday when he was trying to pull out a suitcase from under the bed of IAS officer, he was injured. The incident happend at CV Som’s sector 19 based ‘Kh’ type bungalow number 237 at 2.30 pm.
Director of Corporation Bhartiben Shukla rushed to the place and met Thakor. Petrop pump staff too went on flash strike against this.
Another former employee Jayesh Chavda said he was recruited to work at sector-21 petrol pump but later was asked to work at CV Somn’s bungalow. He was asked to remove garbage and do cleaning work. As he had undergone stomouch operation recently, he refused to do further tasks. He was kicked out from petrol pump job. He said he was single earning person in family but he was asked to leave Rs 4,000 per month job because he refused to obey Som’s order which was actually not part of his job.
It should be mentioned here that few months ago in Karai police academy in Gandhinagar, an IPS officer and his wife had locked several police persons in bungalow’s garrage for not following instructions.
It has been often seen that one-exam wonder IAS and IPS officers behave like they are next to God on earth. Due to supreme power and position, closeness to politicians and safety of job they enjoy, they just don’t bother for anything and behave in uncontrolled manner.
