Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) plans to construct its new office building, ‘Urban Bhawan,’ in front of Zydus Hospital here in the city.

AUDA’s current office building is located on Ashram Road. AUDA has decided to construct a new building due to the lack of space in the existing office. ‘Urban Bhawan’ will be a 22-floor building with a height of 70 meters. It will be constructed on SG Highway, in front of Zydus Hospital. AUDA owns a 7000 square meter plot on SG Highway, and the Urban Bhawan will be built across 3500 square meters of this plot. The remaining 3500 square meters of land will be sold, and the revenue generated from the sales will be used for the construction of the new building.

Tenders are expected to be released within a week. Urban Bhawan will also house the office of Gujarat Town Planning Consultant Ltd (GTPCL). AUDA will also provide offices for the Town Planning Officers (TPOs) appointed for various TP schemes of AUDA. DeshGujarat
