Adulteration detected in Swaminarayan Cow Ghee; Rs. 10 lakh stock seized

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation will file complaint with adjudicating officer against Swaminarayan Premium Cow Ghee for adulteration.
According to SMC, the Deputy Commissioner (Health and Hospital) and Designated Officer had received information from a local person, following which Dharam Enterprise in house number A/228 in Godavari parks society came under suspicion.
Accordingly, food safety officers took samples of loose ghee and Swaminarayan premium cow ghee(pack) and sent them to public health laboratory of SMC for analysis. The team also seized 3,336 liter ghee worth Rs. 10,00,800.
The samples when analyzed according to the Food Safety & Standards Act – 2006 were found substandard and had presence of vegetable fat in it.
A complaint will be filed against the firm and the persons associated to it, said SMC in a note. DeshGujarat
