Citizens in Gujarat can now dial 14449 for complain against police

Gandhinagar: Citizens in Gujarat can now dial 14449 number for reporting misconduct or voice a complain regarding any police staffer. This helpline has been activated by Gujarat Police as per the High Court’s order.

Any complain regarding police staffer on this number will directly go to the control room set up by the DGP who is the State police chief. The helpline number and related special control room is monitored by DGP (Law & Order). The number will be advertised on radio and TV and other modes.

It’s worth noting that in the garb of regular checking, some police men had stopped a car of a businessman late in the night at Ognaj in Ahmedabad and extorted money from him. The businessman was traveling with his wife and child. The High Court had taken Suo Motu cognizance of this incident. DeshGujarat
