Decapitated animal head outside society in Surat sparks outrage

Surat: An unsettling incident unfolded today in the Pal area of Surat as the decapitated head of an animal was thrown outside a residential society, sparking outrage among local residents and Jain community leaders.

Early this morning, residents of Manibhadra Residency saw someone throwing the animal’s head outside the building. This act prompted a large gathering, including Jain monks from nearby Derasar temples, at the location. The incident has deeply hurt the sentiments of the community and fueled anger, resulting in protests. As the crowd swelled, a contingent of police officers also arrived at the scene.

Upon witnessing the severed animal head, a Jain saint stated that such acts would never be tolerated. He emphasized the sacredness of the cow, which is not only revered but also considered the source of life for the community. The community is deeply aggrieved by this act and demands strict action against those responsible.

Regarding the incident, DCP Rakesh Barot explained that an individual reported the incident to the Adajan police station after an animal’s partial head was found at the scene. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officials have been summoned, and the animal parts found will undergo DNA testing.
