Mehsana: The State Education Department has dismissed a teacher for taking unauthorized foreign trips while being absent from school. The action was taken against Meenaben Patel, a teacher at Jornang Primary School in Mehsana, North Gujarat.
The teacher was served a notice regarding her unauthorized absence and travel abroad. She had applied for voluntary retirement on October 31, 2023, and had submitted a written undertaking stating that she would not be absent without permission while her application was under consideration. However, despite this, she left for a foreign trip on September 23, 2023, without obtaining permission or a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
A final notice was issued to her on December 6, 2024, but she failed to report within the stipulated time. As a result, the Education Department dismissed her from service. DeshGujarat
