Bopal – Ghuma water supply shifts from AUDA to AMC
April 08, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has officially taken over the responsibility for the 24×7 water supply system and related infrastructure in the Bopal and Ghuma areas, which were earlier managed by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA).
With this, the Water Supply Committee of the civic body will manage 156 connections in Ghuma and 427 connections in Bopal, supplying water to common borewells or water tanks of residential societies.
Over 1.75 lakh residents in both areas will be served by six overhead water tanks each in Bopal and Ghuma, with capacities of 153 lakh liters and 167 lakh liters, respectively.
Furthermore, the Water Supply Committee sanctioned a ₹31.56 crore proposal to install 4.6 km of stormwater lines—from Butbhavani Temple in Vejalpur to Sonal Cinema and from Makarba police headquarters to the Sabarmati River. This 18-month project aims to mitigate waterlogging issues. DeshGujarat
