Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed a retired employee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹4,000 during a property tax assessment in Viratnagar ward.
The accused, Govindbhai Parmabhai Dabhi, a resident of D/1004, Arohi Aleejiam, South Bopal, Ahmedabad, was trapped in a decoy operation conducted by ACB on Monday morning.
According to ACB officials, a complaint had been received alleging that AMC staff involved in property tax assessments in Viratnagar were demanding illegal payments ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹10,000 from residents and traders under various pretexts. Acting on this complaint, a decoy was used to expose the accused. During the operation, Govindbhai Dabhi demanded and accepted ₹4,000 from the decoy and was caught red-handed. DeshGujarat
