Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is set to table multiple infrastructure proposals worth more than ₹12 crore in the upcoming Road Committee meeting scheduled for today. The key projects include a one-way light motor vehicle bridge in Nava Vadaj, a women-only gym in Jodhpur ward, and road development works across the western zone.
According to officials, a new one-way bridge for light motor vehicles will be constructed near the Nirnay Nagar underpass, in front of the Nirnay Nagar petrol pump towards the Ramapir Temple, in the Nava Vadaj ward of the western zone. The project, estimated to cost ₹6.77 crore, aims to ease traffic movement in the area.
In another major proposal, a women’s gymnasium is planned in Jodhpur ward at a cost of ₹3.27 crore. A dedicated time slot will be reserved exclusively for women at F.P. Plot No. 19 of T.P. Scheme No. 23 (Vejalpur), while the facility will remain open for general use during other hours.
Additionally, RCC road and paver block works worth ₹2.40 crore across various western zone wards will be placed before the committee for approval.
Meanwhile, several railway overbridges and flyovers in the North and East zones have deteriorated due to weather conditions. To ensure maintenance and enhance structural durability, the corporation will propose anti-carbonation treatment and decorative painting of the main spans at a cost of ₹2.61 crore—14% higher than the original estimate. These proposals will be taken up for discussion and approval in the Road Committee meeting. DeshGujarat
