The IMD said maximum temperatures are likely to remain between 41°C and 45°C in inland areas over the next three days, while coastal regions may see temperatures ranging from 35°C to 40°C, accompanied by hot and humid conditions, especially today.

Weather observations over the past 24 hours indicate persistently high temperatures across the state, with Surendranagar recording the highest maximum temperature at 44.4°C. Most parts of Gujarat, including Saurashtra-Kutch and Union Territories such as Diu, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, experienced dry weather, with temperatures remaining above normal.

For Ahmedabad and surrounding areas, the IMD has forecast a mainly clear sky, with temperatures likely to touch 44°C.

Under the yellow alert, the IMD has cautioned that while heat levels may be tolerable for the general public, moderate health concerns may arise for infants, the elderly, and those with pre-existing conditions. Authorities have advised residents to avoid prolonged heat exposure, wear light and loose cotton clothing, and stay adequately hydrated. DeshGujarat
