Ahmedabad is changing:Part 3(pay)

Can you imagin, that you ask an address at some store and store owner officially demand money for telling you the right address showing even sign board for this purpose in his store ? This has happened in Ahmedabad atleast at three different places recently. Could you imagine before some years that, there can be a parking charge ? Or drinking water would be sold in a plastic pouch for 1 Re. and this would replace ‘ Parab’ system which used to run on a charity bases ? What next will be served as a ‘paid service’ in this city ? Entry to the temple or entry to the public garden? Read related story in Gujarat samachar

haa haa, can we say this a knowledge economy of Ahmedabad ? banalore & Hdrabad made mony through knowledge, they exported and earned billions and now Ahmedabad too…..but only 1 Re. through it’s own knowledge economy…This episode rocks

Even toilets are paid but thats good because then it’s clean. Amdavadi rightly said that medical store owner has applied his knowlede for earning money , this is small example of knowledge economy only.’ parab’ part is right. There are no parabs more in city area. Children even dont know what is parab.

This is ture amdavadi! Amadavad is changing but still maintaining its character. If you remember the old joke.
Ek raate koi railway platform uppar, train maathi passenger puchhe chhe, ke bhai aa kayun station aayu? Saame thi jawab aave chhe ke 1 rupiyo aapo to kahu. Passenger kahe chhe ke samji gayo aa kayu station chhe!
We wish there is development and progress, but it should not be like a standardized pattern (one size fit all). Amdavad should maintain its amdavadiness, and can still be a true cosmopolitan.

I just realised that the gujarati fonts I wrote here in my previous comment are not that visible. If you can go to the stylesheet of your template, and change the text alignment to LEFT, instead of Justify, the gujarati written text will be visible in FireFox as well.
Thanks, you are really doing a great job in connecting the Amadavadies all over the world.
Keep it up.
