Ahmedabad is changing:Part 4(bridges)
In school, teacher used to teach us, ‘There are five bridges over Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad city’.This notion remained unchanged for years.Now there will be a sixth bridge in December 2006. This new bridge will make easy connection between Danilimda-Maninagar-Shahalam-Amraivadi-Narol-Pirana etc. areas in eastside and Vasna-Nehrunagar-Ringroad-Vejapur-Sattelite etc. areas in westside of river. Lots of traffic burden at Sardar Bridge will then lower down and this is not the end, there are already plans for two more bridges on Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad city soon. After Shreyas crossing over Bridge, next bunch of over bridges will emerge at Shivranjani cross road in Satellite area, Odhav cross road near Soni chal, Narnapura AEC cross roads, Dakshini crossing at Maninagar etc. Slowly (because construction of one over bridge takes at least two years to complete) but surely in this regard, Ahmedabad is changing. But there is something i would like to suggest.. for kathiawadis like us, stories tame vadhu keso to amne maja avse. saurashtra ma to tamne vaato na khajaana mali rehse.
jem ke gadhvi o nu lok sahitya. ane tame “shivaji nu halardu”, “chelaiya nu halardu” athva eva koi geet upload karso to pan maja avse. all that is easily available as music and cds in mp3 too. so wud b less work for u too.

Wonderful episode. I enjoyed the last part of talk especialy about two aunties walking on overbridge and got with an accident. You are right , overbridges are new and Amdavadis are same old, they will take time to learn new urban habits.

I really enjoyed to see this website. I believe that Ahmedabad is developing in real sense now. I am from Maninagar, Ahmedabad and very much pleased to see the site of Kankaria Lake. I would like to suggest that Ahmedabad Municipal Corp. should make alternative arrangement of the heavey traffice before starting Kakaria Lake Project. Thanks

hey really impressed. for the first time i came to know about this site. actually i was searching the histoty of all bridges of A’bad for my some project and i came across this site. you really provide exellent details through such audios.. will always vote for Modi.. he is the breath of Gujarat.. why don’t you send emails to all Gujjus to advertise your site… they must know what are your plans & all. I think you should advertise this site through sending mails to all Gujjus so that they can come to know about the developements which are taking place in Gujarat by the great MODI
