Congress party’s Kutch district secretary J.P.Maheshwari on Tuesday resigned from the party, protesting party’s stand of providing reservation to dalit converted Christians.
Maheshwari in his resignation letter said “My Congress party works under pressure of Christian Missioneries and that’s why it has decided to implement reservation for around one crore Christian dalits. This will boost Christian religious conversions and unity of the nation will be in danger. Congress is misusing goodwill generated by Gandhiji who genuinely served dalits.”
Mahshwari said he resigned from the party after election because it was morally correct.
