An International Seminar on Buddhist Heritage is organized by Gujarat Government. H.D.H Shri Dalai Lama has arrived here for the inauguration of the Seminar. They had discussed various cultural and historic aspects of Buddhism, also about preserving the historic legacy.
Chief Minister apprised him about the sculptures, inscriptions- Stupas and archeological important sites linked to Buddhist legend are there in Gujarat. Chief Minister expressed his desire and dream to architect glorious Buddha- Mandir in Gujarat. Chief Minister also appealed to seek his insightful guidance and cooperation in this regard.
H.D.H. Dalai Lama evinced keen interest in Gujarat Government endeavors enabling documentation and research on Buddhist material and places so that the sites and pilgrimage centers in Gujarat can be conserved and preserved. He assured his cooperation for architecting Buddha-Mandir in Gujarat.
Chief Minister acquainted him about the excavated remains found at Devni Mori- The holy relics of Bhagvan Buddha are found in a cascade. Gujarat is proud to present them before the world.
Humanity is facing many crises. The philosophy and principles of Buddhism helps to tide over the problems and crisis. It offers the solutions, altruism and non-violence has its eminence and significance.The land of India is the home of Buddhist religion .Mainly, considering the science and philosophy of Buddhism, excellent research and educational activities are carried out at Nalanda and Takshshila Universities. H.D.H. Dalai Lama made these observations during the discourse. Chief Minister apprised him about ‘Vallbhai Buddha Vishva Vidhyalaya’, the Vihara arrangements for Buddha-Bhikshus at Vadnagar and many other places in Gujarat. He expressed his hope that Gujarat would undertake research and educational activities about philosophy, ideals of Buddhist religion with insightful guidance by H.D.H. Dalai Lama.
H.D.H. Dalai Lama outlined the significance and influence of Buddhism in various nations.
Chief Minister said that Gujarat celebrates ‘Suvrna Jayanti Vrash’ in the year 2010. Gujarat accords equal respect to all the religions, a step ahead -it accords more reverence and respect to other religions. He cited the example; Gujarat accorded warm welcome to Parsi people at Udavada port. He also expressed his commitment for The World Religious Conference Udavada would emerge as the world-centre for social harmony. H.D.H. Shri Dalai Lama extended his blessings for the same, and accepted the invitation to bless the ceremony.
Chief Minister accorded warm welcome to H.D.H. Shri Dalai Lama; he presented a memento to him. H.D.H. Pujya Dalai Lama heaped up blessings on C.M and gave him a memento.
Gujarat welcomes Reverend Dalai Lama
Icon of Buddhist knowledge and religious guide of Tibet, His holiness Dalai Lama arrived at Harani Airport, yesterday-late evening. Parliament Secretary Shri Yogeshbhai Patel-on behalf of the State Government, along with MP-Mayor Shri Balkrishna Shukla, honored him with flowers. He is here for the International Seminar on Buddhist heritage, an event where the host is none other but the State Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi. 17th Gyalaya Karamppa Agiyen Dorje will also attend the event.
Large amount of Buddhist relics suggest the religion’s deep impact all around the Gujarat in its time. And to make this available to national and international tourists is the objective of the seminar.
Girl students of Urmi School willingly sacrificed their Uttarayan shoutings to greet the holy man. And he in his turn blessed them with his divine innocent smile.
MLA Shri Jitendra Sukhadiya, Bhupendra Lakhawala, reverend Lama Ghosfel Jotya, Chancelor Pr.Rameshchandra Goyel, Mukund Shah, Rajesh Parikh, Anjaliben Pandya, N.K.Gupta, Police Commissioner of the city Shri Rakesh Asthana, Municiple Commissioner Shri Manojkumar Das, District Collector Shri Vijay Nehra were among the other greeters. On the eve of Uttarayan, it was as if the whole city wore a Buddhist garment of virtue.

Tibet will be free from the communist rule of China one day, just as Bhaarat became free from the colonial rule of the west. We just have to be mindful, watchful, and support our government (people) in becoming the most loved nation. In today’s world the strongest and safest our Bharat becomes, the greatest will be the chances for humanity to survive.
