Three-time MLA from Kalavad in Jamnagar R C Faldu(Ranchhodbhai Chhanabhai Faldu) has taken over as BJP Gujarat unit president. Faldu was the only one to file nomination papers here for the post yesterday.

Faldu, chief whip of the ruling BJP in the state Assembly, filed his nomination for the post to state party president yesterday in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde.

The state BJP said formally made an announcement of the party president after the state executive committee meeting today.

Faldu, belonging to the Leuva Patel community has taken over from Pushottam Rupala whose term as party president had ended.
