A protest rally led by BJP MLA of Mahuva Shri Kanubhai Kalsariya against Gujarat government’s decision to allot village land to Nirma company without local consent was stopped by police in Mahuva due to lack of permission. The police action invited violent clash in which at least 10 police men and several protesters were injured and 200 ladies and gents were arrested.
The protesters turned violent when police tried to arrest their leader and popular BJP MLA Shri Kanubhai Kalsariya. Police Sub Inspector Surani was taken to local hospital for further treatment as his hand was badly injured, thanks to stones pelted by protesters angry with lathicharge of police on farmers.
Kalsariya in his speech accused state government of harming lives of local farmers for one industrialist. He said he was ready to sacrifice his post of MLA for good of local farmers.

One needs to be watchful about mindless agricultural land allotment to builder lobby, for building their plotting scheme and bungalow schemes. This needs to be checked as this would reduce land available for agriculture and would make agricultural item highly inflationary.
Moreover one generally purchases land with this type of plotting schemes for investment purposes and as a result land remains unutilized. Hence STATE GOVT should stop meaningless conversion of AGRICULTURAL LAND into N/A. as this would have very wrong repercussions.
I was astonished when plotting scheme of FILM CITY was sponsored GUJ GOVT.
Eventhough I am Big Fan & Supporter of Sir NARENDRA MODI but his government needs to think again about issues like these.God give them some direction.
Blaming the Govt. is easy. Or, even an agitation or tod-fod or rail-roko is easy. The current youth is looking for a creative solutions that enable proper management of resources.
Why is AdarNiya BJP MLA Shri Kanubhai Kalsariya, and the respected farmer samudaay finding it harder to work cooperatively and in a joint responsibility with Nirma to enable them to generate tax revenue for our infrastructural development and for the subsidies?
Are these farmers concerned that the unorganized labor would stop working in their farm fields and go to this Nirma factory instead?
Sometimes it feels that more than the Nirma, these landlord farmers become more greedy for an easy money.
Govt. role is only for law and order. All economic solutions should be addressed through put aside our egos and work in a cooperative and joint spirit. Strive to work with Nirma for a cleaner environment and a better neighbourhood.
Jay Shree Raam!
