As many as 300 villagers today morning rushed to the Ahmedabad-Khedbrahma railway line in north Gujarat and stopped Ahmedabad-Khedbrahma train protesting against closure of railway gate here.
The protestors from Kesargadh and other nearby villages were led by local BJP MP Shri Mahendrasinh Chauhan. They refused to leave the track before written assurance from railway.
“The railway department closed this crossing without any announcement in advance. Hundreds of villagers on both sides of the track are now suffering due to this decision. Only one train passes on this track and it will not function till the time we get written assurance that the crossing will be opened,” said Mahendrasinh who had also led similar successful agitation for as long as 21 days on Ahmedabad-Udaipur railway line last year.
