Sabarmati river front hosts international kite festival(Video)

Amdavad’s Sabaramati river front today started hosting a three-day long international kite festival, participated by domestic and foreign kitists.
Today (10th January, 2012) Shri Kamlesh Patel, Chairman, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited inaugurated a kite competition at 11.00 am. The competition continued till 4.00 pm. The winners will be awarded prizes by the Chief Minister tomorrow morning. Shri Jitendra Sukhadia, minister of state for Tourism will inaugurated a kite making workshop of Japanese kitists at the same place. At 4.00 pm, Shri Jay Narayan Vyas, Tourism minister of Gujarat inaugurated a theme pavilion.
On 11th January, 2012 at the same place of Sabarmati river front, Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister, Gujarat will grace the state level function of international kite festival, 2012. The event will be presided by Dr. Kamla Beniwal, the Governor of Gujarat. Surya Namashkar by school children, and feast of colorful kites in the sky will be a part of the celebration.
International Kite festival, and extravaganza of international kites will continue on 12th January at Sabarmati river front.
On 13th January the festival will move to Dhordo and Mandvi in Kutch between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm.
On 14th January, kitists will visit the pol area of heritage walled city to celebrate the Uttarayan with their kites.
