Narendra Modi to inaugurate Amdavad’s first National Book Fair

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Amdavad’s first ever National Book Fair on 1st of May at 9.30 am on Sabarmati River Front.
The 7-day-long book fair is organized by Amdavad Municipal Corporation in association with National Book Trust of India, and with the support of Gujarat Prakashak Mandal as part of Vanche Gujarat Mission.
The book fair will remain open during 1.00 pm and 10.00 pm everyday. There’s no entry fee or parking fee.
Literary events like writing shibir, book launch, discussion, seminar, kavi sammelan, hasya sammelan, young authors meet, cultural programms will take place everyday at the venue.
e-book and e-stationary stalls, fully air-conditioned state of art auditorium/dome, water sports, children amusement, food court are other attractions at Amdavad national book fair.
There will be 161 stalls and 103 national publishers participating in the event. An AC hall for literary and cultural activities will have capacity to accommodate 1,000 people. It has been named as Tagore hall to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The venue will have four lanes. Each cross road will be given the name of a prominent author/writer.
