Junagadh: Five Congress Councillors resign

Five Congress Councillors of Congress party in Junagadh Municipal Corporation today resigned, protesting against repetition of same faces for the posts of Deputy Mayor and Standing Committee Chairman. Dissident Councillors were demanding appointment of new faces on these two important posts in new term which begins today. According to Junagadh Mayor while 25 Councillors were on one side and in favor of repeating the old faces, just five Councillors had different view. It should be mentioned that Junagadh is one of the two Municipal Corporations ruled by Congress in Gujarat.
