There are some good developments to share from the Statue of Unity construction site at Kevadia colony in central Gujarat.
Over 80% rebar cutting and bending works for the Statue of Unity’s main raft foundation has been completed on site. More than 60% of rebar lying works and over 50% of formwork for the main raft are also been completed.
The works involved a 3-meter deep raft foundation of the Statue of Unity with round-the-clock concreting over few days to ensure a safe bearing capacity.
All concreting work for the confinement wall being built around Sadhu Bet will be completed by February, 2016.
Before construction work on the feet of the Statue of Unity begins next year, the construction of the main bridge connecting the statue to the Narmada bak as well as the road along the bank leading to Sadhu bet will be completed.
The museum and memorial park of the Statue of Unity will be completed before the construction of the feet of the statue begins next year. The project is progressing on schedule and will be completed by 2018.
