Panicked by Sadbhavana? Gujarat Congress holds minority meeting
September 21, 2011

Ahmedabad, 21 September, 2011
Two days after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi completed his Sadbhavana fast attended by thousands of Muslims from across the state, rival Gujarat Congress called party’s Muslim workers from all over the state and held state Congress’s minority department’s convention at party’s Gujarat region headquarter in Ahmedabad.
Anticipating possible decrease in its only trusted vote bank(that is minority vote bank) in Gujarat after success of BJP Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Sadbhavana mission fast, Gujarat Congress had called party’s all minority MLAs, corporators, district, taluka and Nagarpalika members to the meeting.
It is interesting to note that even Gujarat BJP has minority cell, but Gujarat Congress which largely relies on Muslim voters in Gujarat has not formed its minority cell yet. Due to this reason for Gujarat Congress it was a tough task to put together the responsible Muslim workers from across the state. Finaly it was decided to call all elected Muslim congressmen across the state, and some other prominent Muslim faces active in party.
