Gandhinagar, 30 September, 2011
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today skipped BJP’s national executive meeting as earlier announced. Official version of Modi’s absence is that Modi is on Navratri fast and therefore avoiding to go outside the state.
“We are speaking to him. He comes usually, but there are some issues due to Navratras,” BJP president Nitin Gadkari had said yesterday.
Modi instead today participated Shri Somnath Trust meeting in Gandhinagar.
Shri L.K.Advani is one of the trustees of Shri Somnath Trust. However he skipped today’s meeting of the trust, most probably for the first time.
While major section of media is speculating ‘rift’ between Advani and Modi, today BJP’s Gujarat prabhari Shri Balbir Punj said in New Delhi that given a chance Shri Modi would be the best Prime Minister of India. BJP’s national Vice President and Modi supporter Shri Purushottam Rupala(Gujarat MP) said he would like to have the next Prime Minister of India from Gujarat, but it would be decided by the party.
