BJP will declare a list of candidates of 26 Lok Sabha seats of Gujarat on 19th of this month after party’s central election committee meeting which is scheduled to be held on same day.
After announcing party’s fourth list of candidates today evening, BJP leader Ananth Kumar while replying to media persons said, “we are going state by state. List of Gujarat is going to come on 19th, then all of the names will figure including Advani.”
When asked,”will Narendra Modi contest from Gujart as well?”, Ananth Kumar replied, “that will be decided on 19th.”
When asked,” will Advani contest from Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh)?” Ananth Kumar replied, “list for five seats of Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, all seats of Gujarat and seats of Rajasthan will arrive(at party headquarters from respective states) on 19th.”
It should be mentioned that Gujarat BJP parliamentary board meetings were held last week to discuss the names of candidates for 26 Lok Sabha seats of Gujarat. The next round of meetings will resume after Holi.
Party leader Vijay Rupani has made it clear that Shri Modi will contest from one seat. He said party workers from Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad want Modi to contest from their city.
There are speculations that Modi may contest from Ahmedabad-East, Vadodara or Surat seat. If he decides to contest from Gandhinagar, the sitting MP LK Advani may move to Bhopal to contest the Lok Sabha election.
Modi’s name has been declared for Varanasi seat in Uttar Pradesh already today.
