Amrut Prajapati’s murder: Vaghela slams state govt

Leader of opposition in Gujarat, Shankersinh Vaghela today slammed Gujarat government over Amrut Prajapati’s murder.

Vaghela said: it is sad that Amrutbhai Prajapati has been shot dead. He was witness in Asaram case. The Law and Order situation in Gujarat has deteriorated. Amrutbhai was sharing details on Asaram case. Though he was vulnurable, and the state government was aware about that, he could not be protected. The culprits must be booked under 302 and face action.

Vaghela said if rain delays, the state will witness serious problem of water, but it seems the state government has not chalked out any substantial plan.

He said Congress will try its best to win upcoming by-elections in Gujarat.

Amrut Prajapati who was witness against controversial Asaram Bapu was attacked with country-made pistol in Rajkot on 23 May when Prajapati’s police guard was not with him for some time. Prajapati was taken to hospital in Rajkot and later shifted to Ahmedabad’s Apollo hospital. He was discharged after treatment but succumb to death due to infection during treatment.

Though Amrut Prajapati had given names of suspects, Rajkot police has not arrested even a single person after 18 days.
