82,113 companies registered in Gujarat

There are total 82,113 companies registered in Gujarat. The highest number of 2,98,611 companies are obviously registered in Maharashtra with Mumbai as its capital. Delhi comes second with 2,75,895 companies registered there. West Bengal has 1,85,954 companies registered while Tamil Nadu is at number 4 position with 1,15,981 companies registered there. At 5th position, Gujarat has 82,113 companies registered closely followed by Karnataka with 80,183 companies and Telangana with 78,289 companies. The figures are as on 30th June 2015.

Number of struck-off companies during last 3 years in Gujarat was 1,539 while 8 companies were liquidated.

The highest number of struck-off and liquidated companies in last three years was noticed in West Bengal(7,008) followed by Telangana(6,775), Delhi(6,069), Maharashtra(4,733) and Tamil Nadu(3,568).

This information was given by Shri Arun Jaitley, Minister of Corporate Affairs in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
