Ahmedabad: News in brief as  of noon today from across Gujarat;

-Congress has gained power in Thara municipality of Banaskantha district. Vinodji Revaji Thakoar has been elected president and Virjibhai Kirtilal Shah has been elected vice president. Thara municipality had recently went for polling. Each BJP and Congress had got 12 seats.

 -More than 250 extra buses operated so far to Sarangpur to carry the devotees to Pramukh Swami’s antim darshan, said GSRTC MD Pankaj Kumar

– Gujarat Cabinet today took a decision that Chief Minister Vijay Rypani will move ‘shok prastav’ in Gujarat Assembly paying tribute to Pramukh Swami.

-7th Pay Commission implementation for Gujarat govt employees/pensioners approved by Gujarat Cabinet with effect from 1st January, announced Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. The government will give arrears later. The government will have total Rs 8531 crore burden due to this implementation.

-Mumbai Central – Vadodara Express shall have commercial stop at Valsad from 02:45 am to 02:50 am with effect from 1.10.16: Western Railway.

-Gujarat High Court scraps Gujarat govt notification on NRI quota in medical colleges. Only NRI students, and not NRI sponsored students eligible for NRI quota in medical courses. We will study High Court order on NRI quota it seems that HC agreed to held NRI quota but not sponsorship practice said Health Minister Shankar Chaudhary.

– The Gujarat High Court has dismissed LPA plea against allowing 25 candidates in main exams of GPSC class 1 and 2. All air clear now for further steps of exams.

-Navsari MP CR Patil admitted to Mahavir Hospital in Surat

-RSS Sah Sar Karyavah Bhaiyaji Joshi, former CM Anandiben Patel joined by former minister Vasuben Trivedi, IPS cop Abhay Chudasama, former Gujarat BJP chief RC Faldu, former Deputy Chief Minister Narhari Amin, MP Shambhu Prasad Tundiya, Delhi CM Kejriwal among those visiting/visited Sarangpur today to pay last tribute to Pramukh Swami. Gujarat BJP general secretary Bharatsinhji Parmar, MP Mansukh Vasava and MLA Ketan Inamdar also visited Sarangpur.

  – BJP leader LK Advani is likely to visit Sarangpur tomorrow. Hariprasad Swami of Haridham Sokhda today reached Sarangpur. Earlier PP Swami of Maninagar Gaadi had sent his tribute in writing with his Bhagvadpriyadasji and other saints to Sarangpur which was handed over to Mahant Swami.

– BJP national president Amit Shah will arrive in Ahmedabad at around 8.00 pm today to attend last rites of Pramukh Swami at Sarangpur tomorrow. Vijay Rupani, Baba Ramdev, Anil Ambani also likely to attend the last rites.

-Actor Amitabh Bachchan today in his tweet said: T 2350 – HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj a spiritual leader humanitarian, condolences on his passing .. a generous simple human, his aura remains.
