January 30, 2017
Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad’s Kalupur fruit market today observed strike against nuisance of goons and criminals. The extreme step of strike was taken after attack on a trader last week for Rs 5,000 by a local goon. Traders had feeling that police was not taking enough action after the incident. To lead the attention of police and government, fruit market traders decided to go on strike today. The traders have specifically pointed out that Abdul Samad Sheikh alias Jummo is creating nuisance for fruit market traders for last some time and seeks extortion money along with his two associates. Jummo had injured fruit traders Faisal Meman, Adil Meman and their driver with knife attack. Police has arrested Jummo.
