Perhaps BJP might win Gujarat polls but quota stir will continue even after that:Hardik
March 27, 2017
Ahmedabad: PAAS convener Hardik Patel today for the first time acknowledged the possibility of BJP’s win in Gujarat assembly election due to be held by December this year.
Talking to newsmen here after appearing before the crime branch in connection with a sedition case, Hardik said,’ Perhaps BJP might win, but our quota stir will continue even after that.’
He alleged that the case lodged against him in connection with attack on a local BJP corporator was politically motivated. He said that his quota stir would not stop even if he was jailed. ‘I am not a political leader that my being jailed will hamper the agitation. It had continued during my 9 month jail term and will continue if am jailed again. It will go on even if BJP wins the polls,’ he said.
Hardik also took an indirect dig at BJP president Amit Shah who is coming on two day Gujarat visit from March 29.
Notably, the quota stir led by Hardik has visibly lost much of its sheen. With allegation of misuse of fund collected in the name of the stir by him leveled by his former close aides and changed political scenario during Hardik’s long absence from Gujarat along with the wins of BJP in various elections in last few months post demonetization, many believe that Hardik is hardly a major factor in Gujarat. He is even facing opposition in his own community, with many of his recent programmes proving to be a fiasco.
