In a freak incident in Amdavad, overhead water tank collapses into house, 2 dead, 3 injured

Ahmedabad: Two people including a young lady today died and three others injured when the concrete made water tank of a 3 storied building of Gujarat Housing Board situated near Shashtrinagar BRTS under Naranpura police station area of the city suddenly collapsed this morning.

PI of Naranpura K A Makwana said that the water tank situated on the roof top of the 3 storied building named Ekta apartment, an old construction of GHB, suddenly collapsed this morning. It also damaged the portion of roofs of second and first floors.

Two people living on the second and first floor of the building died; one of them on the spot while the other succumbed in the hospital. They have been identified as Vinod Vyas (61) and Akansha Khatri (17).

Three others injured in the incident of whom one has been hospitalized.
