Hardik owes an explanation to Patidar community on his ‘secret’ meeting and deal with Rahul – Nitin Patel

Gandhinagar:

In the wake of yet another viral CCTV footage reportedly showing PAAS leader Hardik Patel secretly meeting Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in Taj Hotel of Ahmedabad, senior BJP leader and Deputy CM Nitin Patel today said that Hardik owes an explanation to the Patidar community as to why he met the Congress leader secretly and what kind of deal he struck with him.

Addressing a press conference the DyCM said, ‘the CCTV footage clearly shows that Hardik had a meeting with Rahul. He entered the hotel from the back door and went to room number 224 and there he waited for around one hour and then met Rahul with whom he spent around 55 minutes.’

‘He owes an explanation to the community of which I am also a member, as to why he was hiding the meeting. Why he needed to meet Rahul secretly. Whenever BJP government with all sincerity made announcements beneficial for Patidar and other non-reserved categories including the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana of Rs 1000 crore or the recent decisions including setting up of commission and corporation for the categories, Hardik termed it lollypop to misled the community. Whatever we did was a lollypop for him but now he must explain as to what great thing Congress has done that he was sitting in its lap.’

Patel, said, that he was also a patidar leader and was associated with various social and religious organizations of the community and Hardik in the past had insulted him too but he kept quiet for the sake of the community and peace in the state.

‘I want him to reply as to why he went for a secret meeting and what deal he struck with Rahul and what was the stand of Congress on OBC quota or any other type of quota for Patidar community. He should answer it without speaking in round about manner. Or lying as he has done on several occasions in the past,’ he said.
