October 28, 2017
New Delhi:
Sole JD-U (Sharad faction) MLA and Gujarat president of the party Chhotu Vasava today said that his party has agreed for a poll pact with Congress for upcoming assembly election in the state.
Talking to newsmen here after meeting Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi along with Gujarat party in-charge Ashok Gehlot and other leaders, Vasava, said, ‘We have decided to go for a poll pact. But the seat sharing and some other modalities would be discussed later.’
He, however, claimed that his party would contest more seats than what united JD-U had contested in last election in 2012.
Notably, Vasava, the sole JD-U MLA from Gujarat had supported Congress in Rajyasabha poll in Gujarat on August 8 and played a crucial role in the close victory of Ahmed Patel.
