March 28, 2019
Ahmedabad: Gujarat Congress today said that police deployment at its state headquarters Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Paldi area here was part of a routine process during elections and the party has not demanded any such security from its side.
Former party president Arjun Modhwadiya today said that it was a routine process to deploy police on the party headquarters during election.
‘It is for BJP also and there was nothing new in it,’ he said.
Party spokesperson Manish Doshi also said that it was a routine procedure and it should not construed as something else.
Earlier it was said in a few media reports that Congress which had faced strong opposition and demonstrations from the supporters of those leaders who were denied tickets had sought the security as a precautionary step just before announcement of candidates on several Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat.
