Parts of Saurashtra receive moderate to heavy rains, met issues rain warning for July 26, 27

Ahmedabad: Parts of Saurashtra has received moderate to heavy rains today even as 38 talukas of 15 districts have seen rain till 6 pm today with Talala topping the table with highest 92 mm.

Among other prominent rain receiving talukas today are Kodinar 64 mm, Vanthali 56 mm, Dhoraji 55, Junagadh city 51mm and Gir Gadhada 49mm. During the last 24 hours ending 6 am this morning a total of 114 talukas of 31 districts had seen rains and Tankara in Morbi had received the highest of 67 mm.

Met has predicted spells of heavy rains on July 26 and 27 while the IMD center Director here Jayant Sarkar said that there would be more rains on July 28 and 29 also as a new system is likely to be developed in next few days.

As per the met bulletin issued this evening the state forecast and heavy rain warning for the next four days are as follows-

DAY 2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 24/07/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 25/07/2019):-

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at many places in all the districts of South Gujarat region and in Daman Dadara Nagar Haveli ; at a few places in districts of Saurashtra namely Botad, Amreli, Gir Somnath , Bhavnagar and in Diu ;at isolated places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Anand, Kheda ,Sabarkantha and Aravalli . Dry weather very likely in Kutch district and remaining districts of North Gujarat region and Saurashtra.

DAY 3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 25/07/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 26/07/2019):-

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at many places in all the districts of South Gujarat region and in Daman Dadara Nagar Haveli; at a few places in districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar and in Diu; at isolated places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Anand, Kheda, Sabarkantha and Aravalli and in Kutch district. Dry weather very likely in remaining districts of North Gujarat region and Saurashtra.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at many places in all the districts of South Gujarat region and in Daman Dadara Nagar Haveli; at a few places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha and Sabarkantha ,Patan, Aravalli, Mehsana and Mahisagar; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kutch and in Diu. Dry weather very likely in remaining districts of North Gujarat region and Saurashtra.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at many places in all the districts of South Gujarat region and in Daman Dadara Nagar Haveli; at a few places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha and Sabarkantha ,Patan, Aravalli, Mehsana and Mahisagar; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kutch and in Diu.
