Low pressure area expected to form in Bay of Bengal, heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Gujarat from July 27

Ahmedabad: Even as light to moderate rain continue to lash parts of Gujarat, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in the state for three days starting July 27 under the influence of a new system which was expected to be formed over bay of Bengal on July 26.

Meanwhile, till 6 pm today a total of 49 talukas of 18 district have received rain with Talala in Gir Somnath district seeing the maximum of 56mm. Talala had during the last 24 hours ending 6 am today was also the top rain getter with 92 mm while a total of 53 talukas of 20 district had seen rain.

Today among other prominent rain receiver talukas were Thangadh in Surendranagar district 52mm, Savarkundala in Amreli 50 mm, Jamkandorana in Rajkot 35 mm, Kodinar in gir Somnath district 32mm, Lalpur in Jamnagar 31mm and Dhandhuka in Ahmedabad district 29 mm. Amost 12 talukas today have seen almost one inch or more rain till 6pm. There was likelihood of more rain during the late evening or night.
