Ring-leader of the gang involved in 11 incidents of ATM loot in Gujarat nabbed from Rajasthan

Gandhidham: The ring-leader of a notorious inter-state ATM-loot gang who was also involved in at least 11 such incidents in Gujarat has been nabbed, SP East-Kutch district Parikshita Rathod said today.

Hasimuddin A Khan (46) who was member of a notorious loot gang of Mewat district in Haryana, has been nabbed from Malar village of Falodi taluka in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, She said.

His gang was involved in at least 11 incidents of ATM cutting and loot in Kutch, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Panchmahal, Banaskantha and Ahmedabad districts of Gujarat.
On July 3 , his gang had targetted two ATM here and looted cash of over 28 lakh from these. Later the same gang had also tried to break to ATMs in Anjar and Palanpur.

During interrogation, he has informed that his gang used to track the ATMs through Google map and then reach there in a pick-up van brought in a big truck that was parked 8 to 10 km away from the spot. They wrap mask on their faces and gloves in hands and then used to cut the ATM chest with gas cutter to take out the cash. After loot they used to take the pick up van to the place where the truck was parked and load it inside that.

Police could not trace them due to this unique modus operandi and the pick van which was tracked in local cctvs could never be tracked in any check post or toll point footage.

Later information about them was received from informers and based on the tip off Hasimuddin has been nabbed from Malar. He has revealed that the gang was also involved in murder of one person.
