Gujarat Assembly to start giving ‘Best MLA’ award

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Assembly will start giving ‘Best MLA’ award for MLAs starting from year 2019. Speaker Rajendra Trivedi made this announcement today. The award will be on the lines of Outstanding Parliamentarian Award given to Members of Parliament and Best MLA awards that are in practice in some states.
Trivedi said, ‘outstanding parliamentarian award’ is given since 1995 in both houses of parliament. In Akhil Bharatiya Pramukh Adhikari Parishad at Lucknow, the Speaker of Lok Sabha had suggested that each assembly also should start such award.
