Bopal: Iscon Platinum residential society here has created a ten-bed temporary hospital with oxygen, doctor and nurse facility in society’s clubhouse building. A temporary hospital has been set up in cooperation of a healthcare service providing agency. According to those associated with this initiative, as many as ten residents of this society had to suffer problems during hospitalization. Looking at their experience, it was decided that a club house should be converted into a temporary hospital. The building has now facility of MBBS doctor and nurse. A guidance of MD doctor is also available here. An office bearer of society said, ‘we have a tie up with healthcare service provider. We have facility to satisfy requirement of upto 5 liter oxygen supply. Suppose if someone from the society is in need of oxygen, he/she can get it for six to eight hours before ambulance equipped with oxygen facility arrive here to take him/her to hospital.

Similar initiative has also been taken by Shahibaug area based Sheetal Aqua society where club house has been converted into a four-bed hospital with facilities such as oxygen cylinder, medicines and service of doctor round the clock.

In somewhat similar initiative, Punsri village in North Gujarat has arranged 8 litre oxygen bottles at village’s primary health centre and private clinic so that a patient waiting for hospitalization can be given a stop-gap facility of oxygen supply while in transit.
