Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has started the work of setting up a refilling plant of 13 kilo-liter capacity at Chepirog Hospital in Baherampura which will help to refill around 1200 oxygen cylinder on daily basis, as mentioned by AMC in a press-note.

AMC has arranged 15 Portacryo Tank with 1 Kilo-Liter capacity for various hospitals with significant number of beds and higher demand of oxygen in the city.

Oxygen control room jointly established by AMC and Gujarat Pollution Control Board has made arrangements of utilizing the oxygen for the medical sector and forbidding its industrial usage on a temporary basis. Around 1650 oxygen cylinders were provided to hospitals run by AMC and Covid Care Centers and it is also provided to private hospitals in the city when required in emergency circumstances.

Oxygen was arranged for hospitals based in Ahmedabad city and nearby rural areas by AMC via more than 35 liquid oxygen tankers till 2 PM during the last 4 days- from 20th to 25th April 2021, the note stated. DeshGujarat
