Only 207 Oxygen+ICU covid beds available in Ahmedabad: AMC

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has designated 169 hospitals as COVID hospitals and 178 nursing home/Hospitals as designated Covid Health Care (DCHC). In addition to this 35 hostels/ Hotels/ Social Wadi etc. have been designated as Covid Care Centres. In this way more than 15,000 beds have been made available for city of Ahmedabad. This number was just around 7500 in the month of March. In short, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has added over 7500 beds during last 45 days for Covid treatment. Of this, more than 2,000 oxygen beds have been added at various places by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in last just 15 days.

The Corona infection is at its peak today not only in Ahmedabad and in other parts of Gujarat. Large number of hospitals in Ahmedabad are flooded with patients from other parts of Gujarat as well as other states. It is estimated that presently around 800 patients from outside Ahmedabad are being treated in Ahmedabad hospitals. As a result, most of the hospitals in Medicity, Sola Civil and 4 AMC hospitals like SVP, VS, LG & Shardaben are full. Presently, most of the patients are requiring oxygen. As on today only 207 oxygen beds are available at Ahmedabad hospitals as follows:

It is further repeated that as on today only 207 Oxygen+ICU beds are available in all the hospitals of Ahmedabad put together for COVID treatment. Since the infection is at its peak, people should not move out unless and until it is absolutely necessary. DeshGujarat
