Gujarat govt to bear IGST on items imported for Covid treatment

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has today taken a decision that IGST on imported foreign equipment and items that are used for treatment of covid patients will be payed by the State government. As per this decision, if any voluntary organization, person or corporate company import medical oxygen, oxygen cylinder, oxygen plant, oxygen filling system, oxygen storage tank, oxygen generator, cryogenic road transport tank etc or their parts, ventilators, vaccine, Remdesivir injections or material used in making of it and give it for free of cost to the State government, State of civic body run hospitals or State approved hospitals/organizations then IGST will be paid by the State government on such items.
