May 06, 2021
Sabarmati: There’s some good news for Amdavadis. After a long period during the second wave of Covid19 pandemic, the city has for the first time witnessed more discharges (recoveries) than new cases.
As per the daily bulletin by Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today, the new cases of Covid19 infection reported in the city on May 5 were 4,174 while discharges of recovered cases of Covid19 infection were 5,049. This trend if continues for several days, will reduce the burden on covid hospitals and ambulances.
The other good news in today’s bulletin is decrease in the number of active cases for the first time during the second wave of pandemic. While yon May 4, the number of active cases in the city was 67,853, it has come down to 66,956 today.
Reflection of these figures can also be seen somewhat on the ground. Since Sunday evening, the long queue of ambulances carrying Covid19 patients outside the Asarwa civil hospital campus has been absent. Today morning, the queue was absent even inside the hospital campus. DeshGujarat
