SMIMER hospital in Surat gets PSA oxygen generator plant

Surat: A PSA (Pressure Swing Absorption) oxygen concentrator plant of AIROX company was inaugurated today at city based public hospital SMIMER. The plant generates 850 liter per minute oxygen from air. Its cost of Rs. 1,73,25,000. The oxygen generated from the plant is as per the Indian Pharmacopeia Standards.

The plant can daily generate 1.7 metric tons (equal to 175 jumbo cylinders) oxygen. In long term it will give relief in expenditure made for oxygen. The hospital will not have to depend on suppliers. PSA plant is safer than cylinder and Liquid Medical Oxygen and cylinders. PSA plant requires lesser number of men power compared to other two alternatives.

SMIMER has connected the new PSA with casualty and covid triage area for availability of dual oxygens supply there.
