October 06, 2021
Surat: The crime patterns in migrant populated areas of Surat sometimes are strange. A boy was killed this week in Surat because he asked for ice cream, and the person whom he asked for icecream felt bad as he was not ice cream seller and he thought, being identified as icecream seller was his lnsult.
Pandesara police has booked two for murder of a boy with knife who addressed them as ice-cream sellers due to misunderstanding.
Three men namely Ritesh Jayswal (Age 19 years), Shivam Mishra (Age 17 years) and Satyam Mishra (Age 18 years) were out for Navratri shopping and they went to Patrakar Colony circle to have ice-cream. Satyam had mistakenly addressed two men standing near an ice-cream cart as ice-cream sellers. He asked them to give ice-cream.
The two men reacted aggressively and said, ‘do we look like ice-cream seller to you?’. The two men then started using abusive words. The remaining two Ritesh and Shivam had apologised for the mistake and asked to cool down and finish the matter as it was just a mistake of misidentification. However, the two men attacked on the three with a knife which caused death of one and injury to another boy.
Both accused escaped after a crowd gathered. However, Pandesara police have detained the both accused and started inquiry. DeshGujarat
