BJP chief JP Nadda meets the press in poll-bound Gujarat State
April 29, 2022
New Delhi: National president of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), JP Nadda today admired Gujarat government and State party organization while addressing the media at State party headquarters here. Nadda also admired the central government and the party for their works during covid pandemic and Ukraine crisis.
Nadda said: ‘I am satisfied that BJP cadres also contributed to Covid management. All political parties during lockdown and pandemic period went to isolation and quarantine while crores of BJP cadres distributed at least 15 crore ration kits. While the other party’s leaders were found present only on twitter or in video conferences, it was BJP whose lakhs of cadres were in action on the ground.’
‘Recently, our students were brought back from Ukraine. Tell me which country brought their citizens back in this fashion? Even those from other nations used Indian flag to come out safely from Ukraine. 23,000 students were safely returned to India in a month. We also helped our neighbors.’
‘Thanks to government’s intervention, 12 per cent people who were below poverty line have come above poverty line. This has been stated by IMF. There’s also estimate that our growth rate will be 8.4 per cent. India has achieved highest export.’
‘Gujarat ranks first in financial management. In last 20 years, Gujarat has never taken overdraft and it has increased budgetary resources and development expenditure without taking overdraft.’
‘Under the leadership of Bhupendra Patel, the State is progressing ahead and at the same time, under leadership of CR Patil, party organization is also progressing. The scientific system of page committee and booth committee is also expanding. BJP has achieved 90 per cent plus result in recent elections in Gujarat. Gujarat has been a laboratory for organization and governance. This model will further move ahead.’
Question – Answer round:
Q: On caste-based politics being played out in Gujarat ahead of polls
– We are moving ahead with the principle of sab ka sath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas, sab ka prayas.
Q: 90% BJP victory, what is for opposition then?
– The opposition is not going to succeed with the model which it has decided to walk ahead. In entire pandemic period, show one statement from opposition that was in match with nation’s interest.
Q: On change of CM and Cabinet in Gujarat
-Strategically many things are done for various reasons. It is only BJP that has given younger blood a chance. Gujarat is a laboratory, and take this in positive sense. You say, which party can take such a bold step of changing the Chief Minister and entire cabinet. The details of strategy remain behind the curtain.
Q: Your remark on bulldozer action
-BJP believes in rule of law and constitution. Whoever go out of the line of constitution and law will face action. Law will be imposed.
Q: Your view on AAP contesting in Gujarat aggressively
-Aam Admi Party (AAP) experimented with four States recently. In Uttar Pradesh its candidate lost deposit on all 377 seats. In Uttarakhand they lost diposit on 67 of 68 seats. In Goa they lost deposit on 35 of 39 seats. Manipur was far away and they didn’t go there. Gujarat is also a good experiment for them, let them do.
Q: AAP contesting in Gujarat by publicizing Delhi model
– It will also come to public scrutiny. You watch for it.
Q: On BJP inducting Congress leaders
– To boost the party’s ideology, whatever is required to do, we do. Some people if want to join our vichardhara, let them come and join. We don’t go and force someone. If we don’t let others in party, you would only say we have sankuchit vichardhara.
Q: Any chance of early elections in Gujarat?
– Election Commission conducts election, and there’s no proposal for early election from our side.
Q:Why loudspeakers action in UP not replicated elsewhere?
-Different regions have different kaaran, vaataavaran and background.
