Four school children injured as portions of ceiling fall

Vadodara: Four children got injured due to breaking of the ceiling at Pratappura primary school at Santrampur nagar in Mahisagar district.

The children were made to sit in the lobby of the school during a teacher’s retirement function on Monday. Total 4 children including 3 girls and 1 boy got injuries on their head, and back after the pieces of slab of the lobby fell on them. They were admitted to hospital for treatment.

Total 4 classes out of 12 classes of the school are declared dismantled in 2017-18 and they are closed for the usage by students. Around 400 children study in the 8 classes of the school. Santrampur MLA and minister of state for higher & technical education Kuberbhai Dindor reached the hospital to meet injured children and inquired about their treatment. School will be reconstructed after declaring it as dismantled, he said.
