Tapi Riverfront project: World Bank team to visit Surat

Surat: A team of World Bank (WB) will visit Surat to review a loan proposal of Rs 1400 crore for a proposed Tapi riverfront project to Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).
The phase-1 of Tapi riverfront project will cost Rs 1 thousand 991 crore. Phase-1 includes developing the riverfront on both sides of Tapi river from Singanpor weir to Kathor bridge.
SMC has planned to take a loan of Rs 1400 crore out of the total cost of the phase-1, while the remaining amount will be given by the state government and SMC. The World Bank team will visit Surat from 9th to 14th May before approving the loan. The team will review Tapi river from the causeway to Kathor. DeshGujarat
